Tobias produces Ane Brun and Theresa Anderson this year

Alongside with releasing his own album The Big Up, Tobias Froberg will produce two albums this year; Ane Brun and Theresa Andersson. The recordings with Ane Brun, just back from touring with legend Peter Gabriel, will take place in Stockholm, Sweden. Theresa Andersson´s album will be - like the last one Hummingbird Go! - recorded in Theresa´s hometown New Orleans. Theresa can right now be heard on David Byrne´s album “Here lies love”.
During 2010 another album that Tobias produced will see the light of day; Hammond organ legend Merit Hemingsson´s new EQ with Lars Skoglund (Lykke Li, Laakso) on drums and Peter Morén (Peter Bjorn and John) on bass.

Lot´s of movement in Sweden

Theres a lot of Tobias in Sweden´s music scene right now. Three Tobias productions are coming out in three weeks; Tomas Andersson Wij´s new Spår, Peter Morén´s first swedish spoken album “I spåren av tåren” and Tobias´own new album “The big up”. Alongside with all that, Tobias is finishing a new cd with Hammond legend Merit Hemingsson. Tobias is producing and arranging the album, Peter Morén (Peter, Bjorn and John) plays bass and guitar, and Lars Skoglund (Lykke Li, Laakso) plays drums. And - later this spring Tobias will start on a new big (secret) project in hometown Stockholm. And in May, he will return to New Orleans to start working on Theresa Andersson´s new album.
– I don´t like free time, Tobias claims. I´m starting to climb the walls, and then eat my hat. I have to move around, or the boredom takes me down to hell.

Tobias song in a HBO series

In the very fist episode of HBO:s series “Bored to death”, Tobias song “When the night turns cold” is featured. The song enters when Jonathan leaves Vaselka and heads to an art opening.

The new album - out spring 2010

After having produced different artists during 2009, Tobias has finally put together a new album. It´s called “The Big Up” and it´s due to come out during spring 2010. Tobias says about the new songs: I have built The Big Up around my Hammond organ I bought in Chicago one year ago. It is by far - to my ears - the best album I´ve done. I can´t wait to start working on it, play the songs live.

Dear world. Just wanted to say that I still exist, even though I spend my days mostly in a cellar in Stockholm. But that´s a place where great (dare I say fantastic?) art is being made, and right now I´m giving the final touches on two albums that I´m producing and mixing, Peter Morén of Peter Bjorn and John, and Tomas Andersson Wij. Great albums, both of them. Later this autumn I will work in London on the new Athena album (big star in Greece). And, after Christmas I´m returning to New Orleans to record and produce the new Theresa Andersson album. Rock ´n roll, dammit. After that, sometime next spring, my new album “The big up” will be released.

Daytrotter; the rock of Tobias

During a US-tour in November 2008 Tobias and Ane Brun went to Daytrotter to record four songs each. Daytrotter is one of the biggest and most influential blogs, and the studio is a very cool place basically in the middle of nowhere a couple of hours outside of Chicago. TV4-morgon på söndag

Hej! På söndag spelar jag på TV4:s morgonprogram. Ska bli kul. Anledningen är givetvis att tv-serien Blomstertid börjar nästa vecka, och samtidigt släpper jag en samlingsskiva på Itunes, Bengans.se, cdon, Klicktrack och så vidare som vi kallar för “Love and misery”. Den kommer upp den tredje juni, vill du köpa min musik innan dess - gå till dessa sajter och sök på mitt namn. Gött. Eller varför inte överraska och tå till en skivaffär? Den elfte juni spelar jag och band på Strands lilla bar. Hoppas vi syns där eller i rutan!

Spring time in Stockholm

Hello world. My new album is getting more and more finished. I´m saying more and more, because you always find something to change or improve. But, I´m starting to feel very good about it… it´s going to be the best I´ve done. By far. I know you should always say that, but I really think so. Nice. My good friend Linus Larsson is mixing in his house in Gotland, Sweden, at the moment. I can´t mix my own things, it´s impossible. Anyways, just wanted to say hi. Goodbye. T
