Tobias Froberg is nominated as producer of the year at the swedish grammies awards, which will take place in February 2012. Two albums that Tobias produced last year are also nominated: Ane Brun (It all starts with one) in the Pop category, and Merit Hemmingson, (EQ) in the Folk category. The Ane Brun album is also nominated for grammies in Norway.

April/May: Right now, Tobias Froberg is in New Orleans to produce the new Theresa Andersson album, a follow up to Andersson´s latest album “Hummingbird Go!”, also produced by Froberg. Back home in Sweden, the TV-series Sapmi Sessions has started to run on SVT (national TV). In Sapmi Sessions Froberg produces some of the biggest swedish pop and rock stars right now, and Froberg appears on screen every Thursday. Earlier this year, Froberg produced the new Ane Brun album, and before that Froberg worked with legend Peter Gabriel, recording the same Ane Brun, for Gabriels upcoming album. FEB 2011: Right now, Tobias Froberg is producing the fantastic Ane Bruns new album in Stockholm, Sweden. “We are creating a new world for Ane, using two drummers and a keyboardplayer. Then we add a big orchestra over that. That´s all. The songs Ane has written are fantastic, she sings like no one else… I would´nt change this record session for any record session in the world”, Tobias says. Later this spring Tobias is going produce Theresa Andersson´s new album. “Another fantastic challenge, another fantastis vocalist and musician”, Tobias says.
Watch out for Hammond legend Merit Hemmingssons album “EQ”, produced and co-written by Tobias.
And - in april there will be a new TV-series on Swedish national where Tobias is producing some of the biggest swedish popstars on screen.

TV-shows and new productions

Hello world. After a couple of years of taking it easy with Tobias own career and working on other artists albums, Tobias feels it´s time to go back on track. Right now he´s hoping to get an acoustic version on that album together. Alongside with all that, Tobias continues to work hard as a producer. At the moment Tobias is recording a swedish TV show, Sapmi Sessions for Swedish Television. On screen, he is working with some of the biggest swedish pop- and rockartists. After all that, Tobias will be producing new albums for two favourites of his; Theresa Andersson and Ane Brun.

Tobias song on Grey´s Anatomy

A song from Tobias new album “The Big Up” shows up on ABC:s TV series “Grey´s Anatomy” this week. The song is called “Precious”. At the same time, another song – “When the night turns cold” from the album “Somewhere in the city” – is featured on HBO´s soundtrack for “Bored to death” which is out in stores now. Lot´s of TV shows right now for Tobias, that is.

Tobias produces Ane Brun and Theresa Anderson this year

Alongside with releasing his own album The Big Up, Tobias Froberg will produce two albums this year; Ane Brun and Theresa Andersson. The recordings with Ane Brun, just back from touring with legend Peter Gabriel, will take place in Stockholm, Sweden. Theresa Andersson´s album will be - like the last one Hummingbird Go! - recorded in Theresa´s hometown New Orleans. Theresa can right now be heard on David Byrne´s album “Here lies love”.
During 2010 another album that Tobias produced will see the light of day; Hammond organ legend Merit Hemingsson´s new EQ with Lars Skoglund (Lykke Li, Laakso) on drums and Peter Morén (Peter Bjorn and John) on bass.

Lot´s of movement in Sweden

Theres a lot of Tobias in Sweden´s music scene right now. Three Tobias productions are coming out in three weeks; Tomas Andersson Wij´s new Spår, Peter Morén´s first swedish spoken album “I spåren av tåren” and Tobias´own new album “The big up”. Alongside with all that, Tobias is finishing a new cd with Hammond legend Merit Hemingsson. Tobias is producing and arranging the album, Peter Morén (Peter, Bjorn and John) plays bass and guitar, and Lars Skoglund (Lykke Li, Laakso) plays drums. And - later this spring Tobias will start on a new big (secret) project in hometown Stockholm. And in May, he will return to New Orleans to start working on Theresa Andersson´s new album.
– I don´t like free time, Tobias claims. I´m starting to climb the walls, and then eat my hat. I have to move around, or the boredom takes me down to hell.

Tobias song in a HBO series

In the very fist episode of HBO:s series “Bored to death”, Tobias song “When the night turns cold” is featured. The song enters when Jonathan leaves Vaselka and heads to an art opening.

The new album - out spring 2010

After having produced different artists during 2009, Tobias has finally put together a new album. It´s called “The Big Up” and it´s due to come out during spring 2010. Tobias says about the new songs: I have built The Big Up around my Hammond organ I bought in Chicago one year ago. It is by far - to my ears - the best album I´ve done. I can´t wait to start working on it, play the songs live.
