Hello all! Just wanted to say thank you to all people that came to mine and Peter Moréns US- and Europe-tour this spring, as well as mine and Ane Bruns UK-tour in the beginning of June. Thanks! It was great playing in front of you all, and it was - off course - very cool to be able to tour together with two such close friends as Peter and Ane. This summer I will be producing the swedish electronica/rock project Existensminimum´s new album. It sounds fucking great. It´s going to be a fantastic album. Watch out! Another artist I´m very proud have have been able to produce is my “sister from Gotland” Theresa Andersson. We did her new album “Hummingbird Go!” in New Orleans (where she lives) in January and February and in September it´s coming out in the US. I think you will be aware of her. She is already a Youtube hit. Back to the summer. Im going to my home island Gotland for some serious chilling. At the end of the summer I´m playing together with another of my good friends, Teitur, in London. It´s going to be awesome. Alright, hope you´ll have a great summer! All the best!

Tobias´ first album “For Elisabeth wherever she is” (2004) was nominated for a swedish indie grammy. The follow up “Somewhere in the city” (2006) made music magazine The Word (UK) write that “it might be one of the best records ever made” and now it is Turn Heads´ turn to get fantastic reviews. Spin magazine (US) lists “Just behind a brick wall” with Peter Morén as “a song you have to download right now”, Sonic magazine (Swedens biggest and most influencual music magazine) gives Turn heads 9 out of 10 and calls it one of the best swedish pop albums in 15 years and Dagens Nyheter (Swedens biggest daily morning paper) rates it as a 4 out of 5. And, if you live in Norway and have seen the new Toyota commercial, you have heard the song “Don´t worry bout a thing” from Tobias´debut album. If you don´t live in Norway, you can still watch the ad, click here!

Tobias Froberg was born in Sweden and brought up on the beautiful and dramatic island of Gotland, in the middle of the Baltic sea. For many years, Tobias was a writer for daily papers and magazines in Sweden but he always said that, by the time he had interviewed both movie director Ingmar Bergman and music legend Neil Young, he would stop working as a writer, and start making music.
In 2003 he got to do a couple of interviews with the iconic director, something that no one else had done since the late 1960´s. After the last interview session, it was on a spring day at the dramatic theatre in Stockholm – Bergman´s very last day there – Tobias went to a concert with Neil Young.
– That was the sign I guess I had been waiting for. I did´nt get to talk to Neil Young, but I saw them live on the same day. How much closer can you get? Tobias asks.
That became one of Ingmar Bergman´s very last interviews.
Tobias recorded his debut album in 2004, “For Elisabeth wherever she is”, and the album was nominated for a swedish indie grammy.
Two years later, the second album came out, “Somewhere in the city”. It was released in over 25 countries, and got amazing press all over the world. In the UK, the record label was Poptones, music legend Alan McGee´s own label after Creation Records. And UK press was certainly lovebombing the swedish artist. Music magazine The Word wrote for example “I´m honestly starting to think it might be one of the greatest records ever made. I am”. Uncut gave it four out of five. And so it went on.
In 2008, it´s time for the third album, Turn Heads. This time Tobias has produced it himself, earlier he had worked together with well known swedish producer and mixing engineer Linus Larsson. And this time the guests are Peter Morén (Peter Bjorn and John), Kathryn Williams, Ane Brun, Teitur, Theresa Andersson, Folke, Existensminimum and Mattias Blomdahl. Tobias´father, jazz musician Ante Froberg also plays on a couple of songs. Linus Larsson has mixed Turn Heads.

Beside Tobias´own career, he produces other artists. For example Peter Morén´s debut album The Last Tycoon. Tobias has also produced, recorded and/or worked with people like Existensminimum, Theresa Andersson, Ane Brun, Allen Toussaint, Lisa Ekdahl and Sofia Talvik to name a few.

Someone said my old site looked like horse shit, so I guess it was time for an update. Anyways, I´m looking forward to the release of my third album, Turn Heads. It will be out in Scandinavia and the US around the 8th or the 9th of April. Buy it! Or not. The album will also be out in the UK soon, so start saving your money. Or not. I´m also looking forward to start touring with my good friend Peter Morén, it will be great fun. Look out for dates in the live section. Ok, enough of all this. I wish you all the best, right now I´m in Stockholm, Sweden. Don´t forget to think enviromental! See you soon! Tobias
